A Christmas Story: Part II

This year we spent a low-key Christmas at my parents' house. It was such a nice break to relax, play games, watch football, eat delicious treats, and visit with family.

Ellie loves her Nana and Papa

Papa and Ellie spent a lot of time down on the floor playing.

Merry Christmas!

My girl and me (lately she thinks camera=open your mouth really wide...)

We also took a day and visited my Grandma Dea's farm. It was fun because a lot of my aunts, uncles, and cousins were also there for the day. It was like a second Christmas :)

During the trip, we went to my sister Joni's house a few times to play with her family as well. Our family, along with my parents and my brother  all went. In an effort to carpool, we all squeezed into our CR-V. Quick story. Jake is the youngest in the family. Every now and again, he has ridden in the trunk or other awkward spots in a car (short trips in town, of course...). For our holiday travels to Joni's and Grandma's, he was once again relegated to the back:

Gaming chair: check. iPod: check. Book: check. Pretty nice ride, eh?

Suddenly it was New Year's! Again, low-key. We watched a movie. Had some treats. Watched the ball drop. And Steve and I stayed up playing games till after midnight. Ellie slept.

Happy 2012!

So...incredibly...hilarious...seeing Jake crammed in the back of your car. Reminds me of a trip to Branson or St. Louis and him sitting on that cooler in between the captain seats. hehe :) Ellie is a DOLLY! I want to squeeze her cheeks and kiss her. You'd better do that for me!
