Four Peaks

A few years ago, Steve and I ended up on a camping trip with some friends. We hiked to the summit of Four Peaks back then. Last Saturday, we went out to hike Four Peaks. This time we only hiked to the saddle. It was a beautiful day - perfect for a Saturday morning hike!

See Four Peaks in the background?? It's much bigger than it looks...

Steve took this photo

We found a good climbing tree :)

It's getting WAY too hot to do much hiking and camping now - we look forward to cooler temps, oh, five months from now...

Merry Christmas!

Christmas in June. One of our family traditions :) We began this tradition last year when we were dating. This year we were able to celebrate on Friday, June 25. As June 25 is exactly six months from the real Christmas, we celebrate.

A meager dinner of cereal and water. Not as elaborate as last year's meal, but we knew treats and snacks would be part of the evening as well...

As per tradition, Steve started by reading the Christmas story from the Bible. Next we opened gifts. We fill a stocking for each other and get a present - or two - as well. We were both pretty excited by what we got :)

We played the Wii for a bit, made sugar cookies, popped popcorn, and played with our new presents.

PS. As I may have mentioned before, we love playing Farkle or Yahtzee while we eat. On Christmas in June, we both got Yahtzees right in a row. Here's the proof:

What we look like while shouting YAHTZEE!

Happy Summer Break!

I love June.

I adore July.

Let's be honest: nothing makes me happier than being on summer break and taking a vacation with my sweetie :)

For Memorial Day weekend, Steve took a few extra days off work and we headed up to UT to visit the DeAngelo's and their new little one, my nephew Gavin!

This is Gavin...

 Me with Gavin

This is how we spent much of our time...
Can you say Mario Bros on the Wii?? With four players...crazy and fun :)

We took family photos on Memorial Day
These were way more cute - and fun - than the traditional stand-and-smile family photo...

We played a lot of hillbilly golf (or ladder ball). If you've never played, you ought to.
Basically you stand across from your partner and the ladder. The goal is to throw your rope and ball apparatus and loop it around one of the ladder rungs. White is worth 1 point, red is 2 points, and blue is 3 points. First team to 21 wins!

And finally, no trip would be complete without the customary "twin shot"

Thanks for letting us come stay, Rach and Dan!
