Take a Breath

Last weekend we moved.

Two days later, the RS presidency in my ward came to my house to visit me. Our house is full of boxes. Much unpacking still needs to be done.

We bought three more bookshelves to fit the plethora of books we own.

I went back to work last Friday. Today was the third day with students. During 4th hour, my whiteboard was written on with permanant marker. The vice principal had to come in during one of my classes to take it off. I'm sure that made a great first impression. *shrug*
P.S. I did not do it. A student did not do it. Hopefully I have better students and better classroom management than to let something like that happen unnoticed...
It was another teacher's mistake.

By the way, did I mention I got a new job? Yep! I moved from teaching 6th grade math at an elementary school (I had been there six years!) to teaching 8th grade pre-algebra at a junior high. I'm also teaching two AVID classes - 7th and 8th grades. It's a college-prep class. So, I spend my planning time trying to learn three new curriculums.

My new school is on block schedule. Long classes but less of them each day. So far, I am a fan.

My new school is less than five minutes from my new house. Yay! Plus my workday begins and ends later now. I'm not of fan of that.

I could go on and on with stories and insights from teaching junior high for the past three days. But I won't.

Instead, I will continue making to-do lists.
I will attempt to be more organized.
I will leave work on time.
I will not get stressed out because my kitchen and bedrooms are still full of boxes - and I will appreciate the funny-ness of living out of boxes. Rummaging through them to find spices, clothes, and shower gel.

I will let my husband give me a massage
clean the kitchen
make me breakfast
carry heavy boxes
give me hugs
and take me on a date tonight.
Because he is amazing!
And he's been so helpful and calming when I'm stressed and in a frenzy.
And I will try to be good enough to deserve him.

I really do love my life :)
