Ellie's First Date

This week, Steve asked Ellie if he could take her on a date. She looked at him and responded, "No." He was a bit surprised and asked, "Why not?" Her answer was, "Because you and Mommy go on dates!" After he told her he would like to take her on a date this time, she said yes and got pretty excited about it. When she got home from running errands with Steve, she told me all about their date plans for Saturday: they were going to the ice cream store and then to the park! She also said, "You and Daddy go on dates on Friday. Daddy and me are going on a date Saturday!"

So, yesterday afternoon, Steve and Ellie got all dressed up (including shorts under Ellie's dress - better for park play). Ellie wanted her hair done in a "dance bun" and she wanted perfume (mango body spray).

First stop: the park! Ellie was most excited to swing on the swings and ride her bike.

 Next stop: Ice cream at Sylas & Maddie's

When I asked Ellie what kind of ice cream she got, she told me, "Pink!" When I asked her what it tasted like, she said, "Chocolate!" (It was cotton candy) :) She came home just bursting to tell me all about their date! I think it was a huge success.
